For many years the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA), and the Altoona Curve professional baseball club, the AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, have teamed up to recognize students who excel in the classroom.
C.G. Johnson Elementary School recently celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday with Read Across America Day at the school.
