The faculty and staff are anxious to help you and your children during the school year. We can only do this with your assistance. The following are a few reminders of our hours and policies. Remember if you have any questions about them we are always available.
HOURS--Our school starts at 9:00 a.m. and the dismissal is at 3:40 p.m.. Parents with children that walk are encouraged to send their children to school in the morning between 8:40 a.m. and 8:50 a.m.
TARDINESS--A LITTLE LATE IS TOO LATE! if your child arrives late to school, he or she should report to the office before going to the classroom. Repeated tardiness will result in penalties and may require a parent-pupil-principal conference.
NOTES--We also ask that you always send a note to explain any tardiness or absence the next day your child returns to school. All the school before 9:30 a.m. if your child will not attend school that day. If your child has a dental or doctors's appointment during the school day, send a note so proper arrangements can be made.
EARLY DISMISSAL-- if any student wishes to be dismissed from school early, he/she is required to bring in an excuse from his/her parent/guardian. Any emergency arising during the school day should be taken to the office for permission to leave early. legal reasons for early dismissal are doctor or dentist appointments that cannot be made at another time, illness, and other urgent or personal reasons of which the legality is to be determined by the school administration. Students should report tot he main office to be picked up by those taking them from school prior to regular dismissal. At the time, the person/s picking up the child must register at the office and record the time they are picking up the child.
SCHOOL CLOSINGS-- In the event of inclement weather or mechanical breakdown, school may be closed or starting time delayed. The same conditions may also necessitate early dismissal. School closings, delayed starting times or early dismissals will be announced over our local radio stations. WCED AM 1420, WOWQ FM 102.1, WDBA FM 107.3, WDSN FM 106.5, as well as WMKX FM 95.9 in Brookville. Reports in the morning will be broadcast as early as possible. If no report is heard, it can be assumed that school will be in session. ** Please do not call the schools or radio stations. These lines must be kept open for emergencies. Early Dismissals as well as school closings will be sent via ALERT NOW phone systems to assure parents are notified.
