About the Foundation
The purpose of the DuBois Area Schools Educational Foundation is to develop, promote and finance educational improvement programs, educational innovations, and activities and projects in furtherance of such objectives for the DuBois Area School District. All activities are distinct from, but in cooperation with the DuBois Area School District.
The DuBois Area Schools Educational Foundation began funding the Artist in Education program, the Virtual School program and the Advanced College-Level and Technical School-Level Tuition Reimbursement program in 2003.
The DuBois Area Schools Educational Foundation (DASEF) received 501c3 status in March of 2003. Shortly after, the DASEF received word from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development that the DASD Virtual School program, the Artist in Education program and the Advanced College-Level and Technical School Level Tuition Reimbursement Program had been approved by the state for funding with educational improvement tax credits.
Through the quick efforts of DASEF board members and area business people, EITC applications were submitted and approved. The Foundation has received nearly $500,000 in EITC contributions since its inception in 2003.That money is being used to enhance educational opportunities of DASD K-12 students across the district.
