The children have been busy learning!! In Math we are working on facts, numbers, money counting, fractions, and geometry. In Reading we are learning more vocabulary words and vowel sounds. Both reading and spelling are getting more difficult. Remember, the goal for first grade is 50 words a minute for reading and blending 45 sounds into 20 words in a minute. Writing sentences is also required now on theme tests. All that they have been taught is coming together! Please continue to do homework every night, especially when the weather gets nice. Watch for the plastic bag and a book to read each day. THANKS for your understanding and help.
